๐ Things you write
Meta title, meta description, your H1 heading and your image alt text. This chapter teaches all four.
A great website nobody can find is like a shop in a lane with no signboard. This phase covers SEO basics, All in One SEO, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
SEO means Search Engine Optimization: helping Google understand what your page is about, so it can show it to the right people.
Google sends out programs called crawlers that visit pages, read them, and store what they find. When someone searches "wedding photographer in Jaipur," Google picks the pages it understands best. You can't pay Google to rank higher for free results, but you can make your pages clear and easy to read. That's SEO.
Meta title, meta description, your H1 heading and your image alt text. This chapter teaches all four.
Search Console shows how you appear on Google. Analytics shows what visitors do once they arrive.
Google is a huge library, and its crawler is the librarian who reads every book's cover and contents page. SEO is writing a clear cover and contents page, so the librarian puts your book on the right shelf.
SEO is slow. After you make changes, Google can take days or weeks to notice them. Don't panic if nothing moves the same afternoon.
All in One SEO (AIOSEO) is a plugin that gives you simple boxes for your title, description and more, instead of editing code.
Go to Plugins โ Add New, search "All in One SEO," then click Install and Activate.
A wizard opens on activation. Fill in your site category, a short site title and tagline, and your business details. Use the free version's recommended settings.
If a screen pushes the Pro upgrade, look for the small "Skip" or "Continue with free" option. The free plugin has everything you need here.
An "All in One SEO" menu appears in your dashboard sidebar. Its main areas are General Settings, Search Appearance, and Sitemaps.
Go to All in One SEO โ Sitemaps. AIOSEO creates an XML sitemap automatically, which is a list of your pages that you'll hand to Google in Stop 7.
Don't worry if a screen looks slightly different. Plugins update often and menus move around. The names stay close, so look for the same words.
Is your site still on "Local"? Google can't see a local site. Everything in this chapter takes full effect only once your site is live on real hosting with a domain, as explained in Phase One.
These two lines are what people read on Google before they decide whether to click your website.

Wedding Photographer in Jaipur | Pixel & Pheras

Blue line = meta titleGrey text = meta descriptionThis is how a result looks on Google. You write both parts yourself.
| Meta title | Meta description | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | The clickable headline | A short summary under it |
| Aim for | About 50โ60 characters | About 140โ160 characters |
| Include | Your main keyword, then your brand | What you offer, a benefit, and a nudge to act |
| Why it matters | Helps Google understand the page | Doesn't directly rank you, but a good one gets more clicks |
Go to Pages and click the page's title (or "Edit"). Scroll below the editor to the "AIOSEO Settings" box.
Replace the default with your own, like "Wedding Photographer in Jaipur | Pixel & Pheras." Keep it under about 60 characters.
Describe the page in one or two plain sentences. Make it different for every page.
AIOSEO shows a live preview of the Google result and a score. Fix anything it flags in red or orange.
Click "Update" in the page editor to save your changes.
Go to All in One SEO โ Search Appearance โ Global Settings (or the Homepage settings) to write the title and description for your homepage.
Never copy-paste the same description on every page. Google may ignore it, and visitors can't tell your pages apart. Also, Google sometimes rewrites your description anyway. That's normal.
A keyword is simply the words a real person types into Google when looking for what you offer.
Think "wedding photographer jaipur" or "best dentist near me." You choose one main keyword (a focus keyphrase) for each page, then use it naturally in your title, description, H1 and text.
Ask: "What would my customer type?" Choose something specific. "Candid wedding photographer Jaipur" beats just "photographer."
In the AIOSEO Settings box on your page, find the "Focus Keyphrase" field and enter it. AIOSEO will check if you've used it in the right places.
Put it in your title, description, H1 and once or twice in your text. If it sounds awkward when you read it aloud, you've used it too much.
Years ago, people added a hidden list of keywords in a page's code. Google says it ignores that tag now, so filling it brings no ranking benefit. Spend your time on a good title, description, headings and content instead.
Don't keyword-stuff. Repeating "wedding photographer Jaipur" twenty times makes the page unreadable, and Google treats it as spam. Write for people first.
An H1 is the main heading of a page. It tells Google and visitors what the page is about, in one line.
Headings come in levels: H1, H2, H3 and so on. Use exactly one H1 per page, then H2s for main sections, and H3s for smaller parts within them.
A textbook. The book title is the H1, each chapter name is an H2, and the topics inside a chapter are H3s. A book with five titles would just confuse everyone.
Click "Edit with Elementor" on the page you're working on.
Click the big title at the top of the page. If you haven't added one yet, drag in a Heading widget (Phase Two, Stop 2).
In the Content tab, find "HTML Tag" and choose H1. Use H2 for your section headings and H3 for smaller ones.
Say what the page is about in plain words, ideally with your focus keyphrase.
Your theme may already show the page title as an H1 at the top. If you now have two, hide the theme's title (in Elementor, open Page Settings via the gear icon at bottom-left and switch "Hide Title" on).
If you want smaller text, change the font size in the Style tab. Don't switch to a lower heading level just to shrink it.
Not sure how many H1s a page has? Open the live page, right-click and choose "View Page Source," then press Ctrl + F and search for <h1. You should find exactly one.
Alt text is a short written description of an image. Google can't "see" pictures, so it reads the alt text instead.
It also helps people who use screen readers, and it shows up as text if the image fails to load. So it's good for SEO and for accessibility.
| Image | Weak alt text | Good alt text |
|---|---|---|
| Bride and groom at a Jaipur palace | IMG_4521 or photo | Bride and groom posing at a Jaipur palace during their wedding |
| Your shop logo | logo | Pixel & Pheras photography logo |
| A purely decorative swirl | swirl swirl wedding photographer Jaipur | Leave it empty. Don't stuff keywords. |
Go to Media โ Library in your dashboard and click an image.
On the right of the pop-up, type a short, honest description of what's in the picture. Aim for under about 125 characters.
The text saves automatically when you click outside the box. Repeat for each image.
In Elementor, when you click an Image widget and pick a picture from the Media Library, you can fill in the Alternative Text on that same screen.
Right-click an image, choose "Inspect," and look for alt="..." in the code.
Rename files before uploading. jaipur-wedding-photographer.jpg tells Google far more than IMG_4521.jpg. Also compress big photos so your pages load fast.
Search Console is a free Google tool that shows how your site appears in Google Search, and warns you if something is wrong.
Inside it you can see which searches brought people to you, how many clicked, which pages Google has indexed, and any errors. Before you can use it, you must prove to Google that the website is yours. That's called verification.
Your site's report card from Google. It tells you how Google sees you, which searches you showed up for, and where you've made mistakes.
Go to All in One SEO โ General Settings, then open the "Webmaster Tools" tab.
Click the Google Search Console block, then click "Continue" on the sign-in screen.
Pick the Google account you want to own this site's data, and allow the permissions it asks for.
AIOSEO adds and verifies your site in Search Console and submits your sitemap for you.
Visit search.google.com/search-console and select your site from the top-left list.
Go to Sitemaps in the left menu. You should see your sitemap listed. If not, enter sitemap.xml in the box and click Submit.
Paste your homepage URL in the top bar (URL Inspection). If it says it isn't on Google yet, click "Request Indexing."
Prefer the manual way? Search Console can also give you a verification code. In the Webmaster Tools tab, open the Google Search Console block and paste that code into the "Google Verification Code" box, then click Verify in Google's page.
Don't expect numbers on day one. Search Console can take a few days to start showing data for a new site.
Search Console tells you how people found you. Google Analytics tells you what they did after they arrived.
With it you can see how many people visit, which pages they open, what devices they use, and where they come from. Today's version is called GA4 (Google Analytics 4).
Before the click: which searches show your site, and how often people click.
After the click: how many visitors, which pages, how long they stay.
A CCTV camera and counter at your shop door. It shows how many people walk in, which aisle they visit, and when they leave. Search Console only tells you how many passed by on the road.
Go to Plugins โ Add New, search "Site Kit by Google," then Install and Activate. It's Google's own official plugin.
Open Site Kit from your sidebar and click "Start Setup." Sign in with the same Google account you used for Search Console, and allow access.
If you already connected it through AIOSEO in Stop 7, Site Kit should recognise it. If it asks again, follow its prompts.
Open Site Kit โ Settings โ Connected Services, find Analytics, and click to connect. Choose an existing property, or let it create a new GA4 property for you.
Click "Confirm & Connect." Site Kit adds the Google tracking code to your site automatically, so you never touch the code.
Open your live site in a private window on your phone. Then go to analytics.google.com โ Reports โ Realtime. You should see yourself as 1 active user.
Add tracking only once. Using Site Kit and also pasting a Google tag into your theme counts every visit twice. Pick one method.
A privacy note for client sites: Analytics collects visitor data, so some regions require a cookie notice or privacy policy. Check what your client's audience needs.
